The Tahitian Gardenia or Tiarè
is a shrub native to the South Pacific islands, it grows in tropical areas where the temperature never drops below 10°C and is also grown in greenhouses outside these climates. A scented oil is produced by macerating flowers in Coconut oil, following the ancient technique of enfleurage: it is called Monoi.
Monoi has exceptional emollient and antioxidant properties, hydrates the skin and nourishes the hair making it shiny, as in the tradition of Polynesian women. Monoi is rich in Vitamin E,aneffective antioxidant that protects against free radicals and prevents early ageing. In addition to nourishing and polishing hair, it protects it from the sun, wind and salt water. Its conditioning action makes the hair silky and easy to comb.
